WEL's member organisations include some of the most dynamic, innovative and practical NGOs in Wales who, in turn, represent hundreds of thousands of subscribing members, supporters and volunteers across Wales. Many members also own and/or manage land, collectively covering nearly half a million hectares of Wales.
Our members must support our charitable purpose, which is: "to promote for the public benefit, the conservation, protection, sustainable use and quiet and responsible enjoyment of the natural and cultural heritage of Wales".
Any voluntary environmental organisation working within Wales whose principle purpose complements ours is welcome to apply for membership.
Members are organisations with an interest in environmental / countryside / heritage issues, working nationally within Wales and able to demonstrate independence from government or commercial interests in its decision making (i.e. organisations who are not hosted and managed by government or its agencies, or operating solely as a ‘for profit’ organisation).
For full details of all the benefits and requirements of membership, please download our Membership Application Form and Members' Handbook or contact us for further information.
