The Welsh Government has been working through nature-focused policy mechanisms via their ‘Deep Dive for Biodiversity’ expert groups. A sub group was established to examine OECMs as a way to support nature’s restoration, and particularly to meet the Global Biodiversity Framework target to protect and effectively manage at least 30% of our land, freshwater and sea for nature by 2030 (otherwise known as the ’30 x 30 target’).
This paper was put together from Wales Environment Link members to help inform the sub group’s recommendations to the Minister for Climate Change.
